Orpha Ann Nash

Orpha Ann Nash was the wife of John Taylor, and the mother of Robert Lee Taylor.

Orpha was born about 1861, the daughter of William Nash and Virginia Stallard. She married John Taylor on 17 Apr 1879 in Scott county, Virginia. Orpha died in 1906 and is buried in the Fincastle Church Cemetery in Dungannon.

    She is my great grandmother. Half Cherokee according to my grand mother.

      She is my Grandmother. She was the daughter of William McDavid.Yes,She was 1/2 Cherokee.

    Her maiden name was Nash . She married John Taylor . My Grandmother Mary C. (Taylor) Beard , born 1900 , was her youngest child . Not sure about the McDavid . I would love to see your research on that . After she passed , my grandmother was raised by Orpha’s mother Virgina ( Ramsey) ( Stollard ) Nash . I have the information that my grandmother wrote down as told to her by her grandmother Virgina . I don’t have any information on a McDavid . Please share any information you have.

      I am the great gran daughter of Orpha ann [Nash] Taylor. I would love to know any stories about her life and her mother Virginia and your grandmother. My grand father was Fleetwood Taylor. Any more photos? Very interested. Not melungeon or Cherokee. thank you so much, debra
