Jane writes,

Pat, I am trying to find out if anyone living recognizes these family members. The picture is made at Harvey Wolfe’s home on Mother’s Day, 1915. My grandmother Frances Maud Wolfe is the girl in the white dress in the foreground of the photo and her parents are on the back row left corner, Andrew Jackson Wolfe and Laura Catherine Lane Wolfe. Unfortunately by the time I had possession of the photo no one was living to tell me who they are. A.J. and Laura lived and are buried near Rye Cove in Scott County.

I also wonder if anyone has information about the children in this school picture. I have no knowledge of the school name etc.

The young man seated second from left looks very much like my father, Edward Ralph Flanary. He was not born until 1916, so I wonder if it could be his father, Melvin Clinton Flanary. Do you have any further information available? My father’s mother, Maude Elizabeth Harris Flanary, died when he was four and we have never seen a photo of her.

    Thank you.

My Grandfather lived in Scott County his entire life.
    I. Bart Wolfe was born in 1875 and died in 1959.
His wife Laura S. Wolfe died in 1947. Both were buried near Sinking Creek Road, east of Dungannon.
I have been unable to find the burial site since 1965.

I am the great granddaughter of Mary Victoria Wolfe Blackwell. You used to hold a reunion in Twin Springs. Do you still do that?

I am not sure. The last one I attended was in 1985. I have not been back to Scott County since. All of my relatives there have passed on.

I am looking for information about Martha Wolf Lane, she was married to my great grandfather David “Dave” Lane, they were originally from Scott Co. Va probably in the late 1800″s , they ran away together and ended up living around the Maryville Tn area, Before they left Scott County they were living in the Purchase Ridge area of Scott Co. Va. My grandfather was married to Lutisha Rhoton Lane at the time, I have been told Martha was married to my greatgradmother Lutisha’s brother at the time, On find a grave it states that Martha was the daughter of Henry and Maggie Griffith Wolfe, I can’t find anything to verify that, Dave Lane was the son of Lizzie Lane also known as Mary Elizabeth Powers Head, possibly born a Ramey. She married Samuel “Black Sam” Lane , my great grandfather took his name , we don’t know who his father was, I have never seen a picture of Dave Lane, Anyone with any information on Martha Wofe Rhoton Lane or David “Dave” Lane would be appreciated, any of the older folks that could have answered my questions are dead.
