Thomas fought in the Civil War where he lost sight in one of his eyes.  Thomas is the grandfather of Florence DINGUS who married John W. PRESLEY.

    Thomas Jefferson Dingus was my gg/grandfather. My grandmother was Sara Jane Dingus that married Emmet Johnson Duncan. I’d like to know more about my Dingus roots.

        Alexander Dingus was born 19 Jan 1822 to Catherine Dingus (her first child) and an unknown slave that belong to a Greear family, that was her neighbor. Catherine his mother was 20 years old.

        In the 1850 federal census Western District, Scott Co VA list Alex Dingus, 24 years old, laborer, Mulatto, cannot read living in the Thomas and Judith Strong home.

      Verna Hicks Sexton of Wise Co. VA was my grandmother also. I think it is probably the same Verna Hicks. Please send me a private email

Verna married a sexton , they had my aunt Ruth, after the death of my grandfather Robert Brock .Robert was shot and that is all I know of him , Verna Hicks was my grandmother , Verna was the daughter of William s. Hicks and Ida Owens, Brother was Earl. my mother was Beatrice Brock, married Corbett R Harvey, Wise County Va. would appreciate and information you may have,. email me, shade _404@yahoo.com

    I am the grand daughter of Robert Brock who married Verna Hicks, daughter of William S Hicks of Wise County, Va. once known as Russell county. I am looking for any information on Robert Brock . I was told by my mother he was shot while huntingt but there were rumors that it was no accident, would appreciate any help at all in sorting this out. Thanks,
