    Hi Lorene,
I am the one who posted it, however I recieved it from another distant cousin of mine. I am related to them through Starling Stapelton’s mother Drucilla Allen Stapleton. She was a sister to my 3x great grandfather James Allen of Scott County VA.
How is it that you connect?

The Starling Randolph Stapleton in this obit was the son of James Emmit Stapleton b. abt 1867 (age on marriage record indicates 1871, but he was 13 on the 1880 census…) who married Drucilla Allen b. 1873.
James Emmit Stapleton was the son of Jessie Stapleton and Dicy Thomas.

My connection with this family comes in with the marriage of James Emmit to Drucilla Allen, as I said she was the sister of my ggg grandfather James Allen. So I don’t have a whole lot on the Stapleton’s.

Unfortunaltly the email for man who is the grandson of Starling and Drucilla Allen no longer works. He lives in Kingsport TN, but I don’t know how much more he knows past his James Emmit though.

Wish I could be more help.

Hey, Sheila. Been a while since we’re spoken. I don’t know if I could be of help to anyone on this or not. If I can’t, I’ll be glad to try and find someone who can.

How are all of you getting along? We’re doing fair. It’s really cold here and snowing today.

I am the grand daughter of Maggie Stapleton Lovell (Starling’s sister). I vaguely remember being at Starling and Bessie’s home as a child. I did extensive research on Ancestry.com about two years ago. I tried to be very diligent in matching family lines. My line of Stapletons matches the names mentioned above (James and Drucilla were my great grandparents). I have names for the two previous generations for both in print. I traced them much farther back but am not presently an active member of Ancestry.com – the names are stored in my computer if I ever find out how to access them (complicated) – impractical to print all that I found tho I wish I had. My memory tells me that the Stapletons descended from German immigrants. I would be happy to share what I can.
