I recently came across reference of marriage of Abe to Eliza Bonnie(1891-1936). Joe married (1) Eliza Pendleton & had 5 kids– Bonnie,Callie, Blanche, Polly Joan and Glen Wallace. He married (2) Mattie Lane Williams & had 4 more kids- Kemp Williams, Joseph Martin Jr, Bruce Carter and Benny Clyde. My dad told me that there were hard feelings after Joe’s 2nd marriage between Joe and”Pegleg” Willams, AKA “Crippled Bill” Willams. I still haven’t figured out relationship beteen Pegleg & Mattie.
