Claude B. Allen

September 28, 2006 by Sheila 3 Comments

claude-allen-mailman-delivering-baby-chicks.JPG

Son of Wyatt Allen and Annie Gibson.  Grandson of John G. Allen and Peggy Campbell.

He was a mail man in Rockcastle County, and his grandson told me that the box he is holding was a delivery of baby chickens someone had ordered.

Yes it is a creek. I think some of those areas were so hard to get to that the easiest route was to travel the creek beds.

Baby chickens, hehe. Is the horse standing in a creek? What those mailmen must have gone through back then.

    Thanks Janine!

This may have been the road to Crooked Creek. The old road followed the creek, sometimes in the creek bed for a distance.
