Hi Linda, Martin Williams’ father Neriah (Neri) was a brother to your James Williams who m. Rebecca Brannon and had T.J. Williams who was the father of Julia Williams, who married Owen Allen. Neri’s daughter Alza m. James Large and had a daughter Corsenia, who m. Samuel Neal Allen, the son of Owen Allen’s Uncle James Allen. Alza’s first child (Ibby McClure) was by Martin’s wifes brother Enoch, I suspect as Ibby was named in a law suit agains Sarah Elizabeth Barnett,McClure, Jones. Julia Williams was the daughter of Jefferson Williams and Nancy Campbell. Jefferson was the son of James and Rebecca. There was no T in his name–I have his death certificate–in fact he had two of them.
Ibby McClure md. Calvin Alexander Allen, bro of Owen.
Yes, Ibby McClure was a half sister to my gg grandmother Corsenia ” Senie” Large Allen. She married Samuel Neal Allen a 1st cousin to Owen Allen. Samuel’s father James and John G. Allen were brothers.
As far as my refference to Jefferson Williams as T. J. ( for Thomas Jefferson) That came from my father ( who was raised in Rockcastle Co.) He and all of the older ones from that area that he knew always referred to Jefferson as T. J. Williams. Also a great grandson of John G. who is still alive and visited with me and daddy this summer called him T. J. Williams. As well as another lady who’s grandfather bought the old farm that Jefferson owned there in Rockcastle called him that when we corresponded. That is what her grandfather called him.
I do realize that all the census records ( and I now know his death record called him Jefferson.) I’m was just going by what the people I know call him. Sorry if it caused confusion.
