This is a photo, given to me by my mother, of my great, great grandparents, my grandmother and great aunt (Both granddaughters of Amos and Arminda). I have no idea where this picture was taken or what year as there is no writing on the picture. I’m trying to piece together my Bledsoe/Lawson family and hopefully will find some more information to share or connect with someone else here.

I may be able to help you with the Bledsoe side of your family. I.W. married Katherine Wallen.
Keziah Moore (1854-1926) was d/o Jesse Moore and Matilda Bledsoe.

Hi Annette,
I’m not sure who I.W. is, but the others I’ve heard of.
I’d love to hear from you. I have some info, more extensive on the Bledsoe and other lines than the Lawson’s, but I’d be greatful for any further info. Maybe it can help me tie up so many gaps I still have.
Please contact me at rylynnblake@yahoo.com

Look forward to hearing from you.

I’m a distant cousin, through Alfred Moore’s sister Amanda Jane Bledsoe. And like anyone from that area, my tree is littered with Bledsoe, Gilliam, Neal, and Lawson. It’s interesting to see some family names passed down – my father was an Amos as well. Thanks for the photo and keep info coming….

My maternal grandmother, Mary Cameline Bledsoe Giles, was a sister to your grandfather, Dock. I have a picture of three of the boys and I think Dock is one of them. I am trying to find out all I can on the their parents, Clercy or Clarissa and her husband Tommy Bledsoe. Please send me any links, pictures or information that you have. Thank you so very much.

George – my great-grandmother was Jincy Ann Moore, born in 1852, in Lee County, VA. Her parents were Phaniry Moore and “Arra”. That’s all we have for Arra’s name, from the 1850 Scott County, VA census. Phaniry lives next to Jessee Moore on that census. I strongly think Arra’s parents were Obediah Lawson and Jane England, based on DNA testing and 20+ years of research. Do you know anything of Phaniry Moore or “Arra”? They had children Epson G., Wiley A., Kitsey, Sarah A., Winright, Mary and my Jincy Ann

We think Phaniry’s parents were Samuel Moore and possibly Jane Rogers (daughter of Dauswell Rogers). Samuel and Phaniry are enumerated next to each other on the 1840 Lee County, VA census, and on the same page as Samuel, is Obediah (“Dire”), and many other Lawson’s, Bledsoe’s, etc.

Any info from anyone about Phaniry and Arra and their families would be really helpful. We last have Phaniry in 1860 census, in Christian County, MO, but without Arra or Winright. We think Phaniry or Arra may have been part Native American or African American. Thank you all for your most kind help, and ANY info on these families!! Happy to share info too : )
