James Haywood RHODES Sr., headstone, Fugate Family Cemetery, Rye Cove, Virginia. He was known as “Haywood.” He came to Scott County with his parents, Joseph RHODES and Catherine FULK about 1860. They settled near the Rye Cove area. He is first mentioned as a laborer on Rufus FUGATE’s farm in the 1870 Census.

Do you know if Haywood have a brother named William Martin? I believe he is an ancestor of mine. He might have had a daughter named Rosa that was my grandfather’s mother. She is not in the 1880 census and died before the 1900 census. Martin also had a son named Hobart.
