Nancy Jane Allen Collins

Nancy Jane Allen Collins was the daughter of Esther Jane Neal Allen.  She was born abt 2 years after Esther’s husband John Allen died.  This death certifcate filled out by her son states her father’s name was Geo Allen born in Ireland.  I do not know if he really knew what he was saying or not.  Esther’s father was born in Ireland so that could have been where he got Ireland from.  Also I haven’t been able to find a George Allen from Ireland anywhere in the vincinity.  The one thing I am sure of is that John Allen was not her father.  Besides the fact that Nancy was born to long after his death, Esther was pregnant with James when John died.  And in a chancery case involving the heirs of John Allen, Nancy was not named as an heir.

Nancy was born in Scott County and married James Collins.  They moved to Wise County Virgina after 1880.
